Is Islam Only for Arabs?
وَمَآ أَرْسَلْنَٰكَ إِلَّا كَآفَّةً لِّلنَّاسِ
We sent you not except to all of mankind. (Quran 34:28)

Is Islam only for Arabs? No — most Muslims aren't Arab. The Quran addresses all mankind, and Islam spans every race and continent, declaring all people equal before God.
يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلنَّاسُ إِنَّا خَلَقْنَٰكُم مِّن ذَكَرٍ وَأُنثَىٰ
O mankind, We created you from a male and a female and made you into nations and tribes.

A Faith for All Humanity
The Quran addresses 'all mankind,' not one tribe or tongue. While the Quran was revealed in Arabic and the Prophet ﷺ was an Arab, Islam was never meant for Arabs alone. In fact, the large majority of the world's Muslims are not Arab — the biggest Muslim populations are in Asia and Africa.
Every Color and Continent
Indonesia, Pakistan, India, Bangladesh and Nigeria hold far more Muslims than the entire Arab world. From West Africa to East Asia to the Americas, Muslims come in every color and culture. One of the most beloved early companions, Bilal, was a Black African; another, Salman, was Persian.
Equality at the Core
The Prophet ﷺ declared in his Farewell Sermon that no Arab is superior to a non-Arab, nor white to black, except in righteousness. The pilgrimage to Mecca — millions of every race in identical white cloth — is Islam's living proof that the faith belongs to all of humanity equally.
Islam speaks Arabic, but it belongs to no race — its home is any heart, in any land, that turns to God.
