What Happens After Death?
كُلُّ نَفْسٍ ذَآئِقَةُ ٱلْمَوْتِ
Every soul shall taste death. (Quran 3:185)

What happens after death in Islam? Death is a door — the soul waits in the barzakh, then resurrection, accountability, and perfect justice at last.
وَمَا هَٰذِهِ ٱلْحَيَوٰةُ ٱلدُّنْيَآ إِلَّا لَهْوٌ وَلَعِبٌ
The life of this world is but amusement and play; the home of the Hereafter is the true life.

Death Is a Door, Not a Wall
Islam teaches that death is not the end of you but a transition. The soul leaves the body and enters a realm called the barzakh — an in-between state of waiting that is peaceful for the righteous and uneasy for the heedless, until the Day of Resurrection.
Everyone Will Stand Again
On a day known only to God, all of humanity will be raised and gathered. Each person will be shown their own life — every kindness, every cruelty, nothing hidden. The Quran describes it with sobering clarity, not to terrify, but to make us take this short life seriously.
Justice, At Last
For anyone who has watched the wicked prosper and the innocent suffer, the Hereafter is the promise that the account is not yet closed. No good deed is wasted; no wrong goes unanswered — though God's mercy outweighs His wrath for those who turn to Him.
If this life were all there is, the universe would be the cruelest joke ever told — Islam says it is not.
