A Prophet Deeply Loved
Jesus — Isa in Arabic — is one of the greatest prophets in Islam. The Quran affirms his miraculous virgin birth, his miracles by God's permission, and his title as the Messiah. His mother Mary has an entire chapter named after her and is called the greatest of all women.
Where Islam Differs
Islam honors Jesus too much to call him God. It teaches that he was a human messenger, not divine, and that he himself worshipped the One who sent him. He came to call his people back to God — the same call brought by every prophet before and after him.
He Will Return
Muslims believe Jesus was not crucified but raised to God, and that he will return before the end of time as a sign of God's justice. No Muslim's faith is complete without believing in and loving Jesus, peace be upon him.
Islam may be the only place a curious Christian finds Jesus honored from an unexpected direction — and finds himself strangely moved.
