How Does One Become Muslim?
فَٱعْلَمْ أَنَّهُۥ لَآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا ٱللَّهُ
Know that there is no god but God. (Quran 47:19)

How does one become Muslim? With one sincere sentence — the shahada — which wipes the slate clean. No ceremony, no fee, no clergy required.
إِنَّمَا ٱلْأَعْمَٰلُ بِٱلنِّيَّاتِ
Actions are but by intentions.

The Shahada
Becoming Muslim does not require a ceremony, a fee, or a clergyman's permission. It begins with a sincere declaration, the shahada: 'There is no god but God, and Muhammad is the Messenger of God.' Said with belief and meaning, it makes one a Muslim in that very moment.
A Clean Slate
The Prophet ﷺ taught that accepting Islam wipes away all that came before. Whoever you were, whatever you did — the page is turned. A new Muslim is, in the eyes of God, as pure as a newborn. There is no probation and no past held against you.
Then, Gently, You Grow
After the shahada, the rest unfolds at a human pace — learning to pray, to fast, to read the Quran. No one is expected to become perfect overnight. Islam is a path walked one step at a time, and God looks at sincerity and effort, not at flawless arrival.
The greatest journey a soul can take begins not with a leap, but with one honest sentence.
