Does God Hear My Prayers?
وَإِذَا سَأَلَكَ عِبَادِى عَنِّى فَإِنِّى قَرِيبٌ
When My servants ask about Me — indeed I am near. (Quran 2:186)

Nearer Than You Assume
One of the most tender verses in the Quran comes as an answer to a simple human worry — am I being heard? God does not say 'tell them I am near.' He says it directly: 'I am near.' There is no operator, no waiting line, no intermediary between you and Him.
He Loves to Be Asked
The Prophet ﷺ said that God is shy to turn away empty the hands raised to Him. Unlike people, who tire of being asked, God is pleased by it. To call on Him is itself an act of worship — and the one who never asks is the one He is displeased with.
Every Answer Is an Answer
Sometimes God gives what we ask. Sometimes He withholds it because it would harm us, and gives better. Sometimes He saves the answer for the Hereafter, where it is worth more. No sincere prayer is ever lost; it only takes the form its Maker knows is best.
The God of Islam is not too busy running galaxies to hear the whisper of one breaking heart at 3 a.m.
