وَمَا خَلَقْتُ ٱلْجِنَّ وَٱلْإِنسَ إِلَّا لِيَعْبُدُونِ

أَفَحَسِبْتُمْ أَنَّمَا خَلَقْنَٰكُمْ عَبَثًا

A One-Sentence Answer
Islam answers the oldest question with startling simplicity: you were created to know and worship God. But 'worship' here is vast — it is not only prayer, but living every moment in conscious relationship with your Creator: working honestly, loving well, being just, all as acts of devotion.
Why It Changes Everything
If life has a purpose, then it has a direction, a meaning, and a destination. Suffering is not pointless, success is not the goal, and death is not the end. The endless modern question — 'is this all there is?' — finally has an answer.
Freedom in Surrender
Strangely, surrendering to this purpose feels less like a cage and more like coming home. To stop serving a thousand smaller masters — money, image, approval — and serve only the One who made you, is the truest freedom Islam knows.
You were not an accident, and you were not made to drift — you were made to find your way back to the One who made you.
